Skills Assessments: Committed to developing nannies as professional caregivers and assure quality care for children, 4nannies.com teamed with the Nanny Training Institute to develop 4nannytraining.com in 2000. It's mission is to allow nannies to assess their skills that are critical to quality child care, and provide avenues for continuing professional education.

Criminal Background Checks: 4nannies.com is also adamant that families should obtain a professional pre-employment screening of their nanny's past employment and criminal records. Working with a licensed private investigative agency, 4nannies.com enhanced their recruitment system to include one professional background search per family registration in the fall of 2000. 4nannies.com also makes this search available at very economical rates for all families and agencies, regardless of whether they utilize 4nannies.com for nanny recruitment.

Photos: Believing that a picture speaks a thousand words, 4nannies.com added the ability for families and nannies to upload a photo with their posting. We believe this personalizes the recruiting process for all concerned.

Enhanced Database Features:  Family features were significantly upgraded again in the summer of 2001. The Family Folder, a recruiting contact manager for families, was expanded. eMatch, an automated notification feature was added. eMatch tells registered families when a new nanny candidate registers who matches the family's basic job criteria. December 2002 brought additional enhancements to the eMatch, including the ability of the family to 'customize' its criteria and the doubling of the selectable fields.

Automated Background Check Reports: In the fall of 2003, 4nannies.com partnered with Verifications Inc. to completely automate the background check processes. Utilizing XML technology, the solution is legally compliant from a hiring practices standpoint. Through the partnership with Verifications, 4nannies.com has expanded it's background checking service offering to include a records check of sexual offender registries. 4nannies.com remains the ONLY online nanny service to include a criminal background check in every family membership.

Professional Reference Checking Services: Spring 2005 marked the introduction of optional professional reference checking services, offered in partnership with Verifications Inc. Families desiring to either outsource this screening function or, more commonly, get a second opinion on a candidate's references may order these checks through the Family Member Dashboard.

National Criminal Records Locator Service: Background checking services have been further expanded to enable families to run checks of a proprietary national criminal records database in conjunction with an in-court criminal record check.

National Sex Offender Registry Search: The sex offender registry searches became national searches in 2007 as 4nannies.com families received access to the Department of Justice's national registry database.
